Rose: variety selection

Growing Features

Despite the fact that the variety "Augusta Louise" is among the fairly unpretentious varieties, during its cultivation, one should adhere to the growing technology and some rules of care:

  • for planting and growing, you should choose a well-lit and sun-heated area with fertile soil;
  • mandatory is the presence on the site of soil with excellent drainage qualities, preventing stagnation of moisture in the root system;
  • an adult plant has relatively good winter hardiness, but, like most hybrid tea varieties, it grows best in areas without strong or gusty winds, represented by loamy soil or sandy loam with neutral acidity;

  • planting rose seedlings of the Augusta Louise variety is recommended in the spring, after the warm days are finally established;
  • standard indicators of the depth of the planting hole should correspond to or slightly exceed the volume of the root system of the seedling;
  • after the soil in the planting holes has settled down, a small amount of high-quality humus compost should be poured to the bottom;
  • when planting, the vaccination site must be buried in the ground by no more than five to six centimeters.

Care measures should include regular irrigation in the evening, as well as pruning of damaged, diseased, old aerial parts and faded buds. In most regions, when growing, it is recommended to use shelters for the winter.

Among other things, special attention should be paid to the timely prevention of damage by diseases or insect pests through folk remedies or chemical insecticides. Also, preventive measures include the implementation of the correct, timely pruning and systematic thinning of the rose bush.

Florist reviews

Judging by the reviews of flower growers, in our country, the variety "Augusta Louise" has won a large number of admirers. As the practice of cultivation in open ground shows, plentiful multiple flowering requires the introduction of a significant amount of mineral complex fertilizers. With insufficient nutrition, very often the formation of more pale colored and less lush flowers with a bare, clearly visible middle is observed.

The variety is practically not susceptible to powdery mildew pathogens and is rarely affected by black spotting., but sometimes whole shoots of aphids are observed on young shoots, which must be taken into account when implementing preventive measures.

Bushes Rose Augusta Luise have a very decent winter hardiness and are able to recover well. For the winter period, strong pruning is not required, and in the soil and climatic conditions of the Moscow region, the plant is able to winter well when carrying out high hilling and the use of spandex. AugustaLuise is not afraid of rainy weather at all.

Landscape use

Hybrid Tea Rose Augusta Luise goes well with the Louise Odier variety from Margottin. This variety of old bourbon roses effectively complements with its double and fragrant flowers an elegantly leafy hybrid tea variety. Also, AugustaLuise can be used in a harmonious composition with a studless hybrid rose from the group of rugosa “Louise Bagnet”, whose double white flowers retain high decorativeness throughout the summer and most of the autumn period.

Large-flowered varieties of tea-hybrid roses are best planted near buildings, terraces or arbors. The creation of combined hedges looks very impressive and decorative, where tea-hybrid rose varieties appear in the foreground, and the background background is represented by evergreen or deciduous, tree or shrub species.

How to plant a rose

Rose Augusta Luise can also be used for solitary planting in limited garden areas. In this case, the large-flowered variety will serve as a worthy and vivid emphasis on the lawn or meadow. In the late autumn period, before the onset of severe frosts, you can cut flowers and create an elegant bouquet that can serve as a decoration for a home interior for a long time.
